The 6th of September in Las Rozas, as the headquarters of the Internet of Things (IoT) Cluster of the Community of Madrid, we have focused on IoT and all its possibilities for application in the field of education.
This is the Erasmus+ Day: EDUCATION IoT & STEAM, an event organized by ITE Network, with the support of Las Rozas Innova as a member of the IoT Cluster and the Department of Economy and Employment of the Las Rozas de Madrid City Council.
During the session, JOSE LUIS AYALA RODRIGO, a professor of Computer Architecture at the Complutense University of Madrid, Advisor to the Vice-Rectorate for Technology and Sustainability, and a member of the IoT Cluster, discussed “Educational Experiences in IoT at the University Level,” emphasizing the profile of IoT students at the university, different master’s programs, mobile applications, platforms, and tools in IoT education for their application in the business sector.
Selina Martin, President of ITE Network, emphasized the importance of IoT education at all stages of education, from early ages. This company, based in Las Rozas and with a presence in various countries, advises educational institutions on the integration of #projects and IoT training courses.
On the other hand, Carlos Pérez Ballesteros, a professor at EFA Moratalaz, discussed the details of the online IoT course for trainers and teachers, and then the 5 prototypes of hydrogen-powered vehicles controlled by IoT from the Smart Green Transport project were presented.
The Internet of Things Cluster, created by the Community of Madrid and the Department of Digitalization, Miguel Lopez Valverde Argueso, aims to increase the competitiveness and capacity for innovation and technological development of the Community. It seeks to bring together efforts, resources, and knowledge, and promote the implementation, standardization, and use of IoT technologies and solutions, especially in sectors such as agriculture, health, education, logistics, tourism, industry, among others.
The companies that are part of the cluster include Admira, American Tower Spain, Cisco, Esade, GRUPO VIARIUM, LG Electronics, KPMG Spain, Telefónica, Complutense University of Madrid, Polytechnic University of Madrid, S2 Group, CEIM – Confederation of Employers of Madrid-CEOE, Community of Madrid, Madrid+ Foundation for Knowledge, IMDEA Networks Institute, FCC Construction, Garrigues, Crowe.
